Mark L Hair is Moving!
From September 1, MARK L HAIR will be trading out of COLAB at 137 Queens Parade, Clifton Hill.
COLAB isn’t any ordinary salon, it is a brand new hair salon created by yours truly.
What this means for you: All services booked from September 1 will be conducted at Queens Parade, and any booked beforehand will be from our Camberwell suite.
Queens Parade is a beautiful and vibrant retail destination with lots of cafes, restaurants and shopping nearby. Getting to COLAB is very easy!
DRIVING: From the East, take the Eastern Freeway all the way to Punt road, turn right and then drive a few minutes and turn left on to the slip lane to get onto Queens Parade. Gold Street just south of the salon has un metered 4 hour parking along Darling Gardens. McKean Street North of the salon has unlimited all day parking
PTV: Clifton Hill Station is a little walk from the salon. Take the Mernda (Red) line to get there. 86 tram route goes right onto Clifton Hill, with a tram stop just outside the salon!

I want to thank all of you for trusting me with your hair, and following my journey as a hairdresser and business owner. I know there might be some excitement and maybe even some hesitation, so below is a FAQ to give you some more information if you need it:
1 Mark, why are you opening a salon?
The opportunity presented itself right when it needed to.
This opportunity will allow me to grow in ways not currently possible in my current setup
2 What is the salon atmosphere like?
COLAB is a 65 Square meter space that will be fitted out with 3 additional chairs for other freelance hairdressers to join me. So While we won’t be 100% private anymore, the space will still retain the intimacy and coziness you all loved from the salon suite
3 How will my appointment change?
Your appointment pacing and structure will not change. You will still be taken care of 1-on-1 (Unless you wanted to arrange a day with a girlfriend x) and the service duration will still be as you are used to! In the future, the salon may be able to take on an apprentice, which is an exciting prospect, but there are currently no plans to employ anyone, just rent chairs out.
4 what if I need to move my appointment around to accommodate the new location for traffic?
You are very welcome to contact me and arrange an amended time if you need to.
There will definitely be a teething phase as we transition into a new location but we will work on this together.
5 Who else will be working the the salon?
As of writing, no one else is expected to be in the salon with us yet. However, finding the right people to be in our space is a high priority for me. Each potential candidate will be given a 3 month probation to see how well they adjust to the space and if they are the right fit, and I encourage all of you to provide me with any feedback you may have and how it may influence the culture.
